I gave up too many times. I am homeless, jobless and I ruined the only relationship I had left. I love her still. I will make everything better. Starting now.
More about me:
-I am 19
-I am an antitheist
-I am a feminist
-This blog will rarely have anything to do with politics, sociology or ethics. When it does, I am sorry.
-You won't like me, so if you feel you need to tell me off, feel free or just block me.
-I love all animals and if you say an animal is gross, you're grosser
-I am interested in biology of all kinds. Particularly the study of sex. Like. I really enjoy learning about that stuff.
-Butts are nice
-Send me music to listen to
-Go away

joshishollywood:

  • Privilege is definitely a thing but I think we need to draw the line somewhere
  • I propose we do it at “tall privilege”
  • Yes! That’s something I’ve seen on more than one occasion
  • And the reason I’m suggesting we axe shit like that is because it’s honestly diluting a really important dialogue about the differences and benefits that we don’t take into consideration but harm others
  • Now I know the first thing anyone making a claim like that will do is to refuse to explain what they mean and implore the inquirer to do some research
  • So I did
  • And found… nothing
  • At best I found some blog posts about completely circumstantial crap involving relationships with people of different heights and the insecurities it fostered
  • Which
  • No that’s not
  • No
  • One blogger suggested that shorter people have a more difficult time making it as a model and also suggested carnival rides as being a way that tall people have privilege
  • I mean sure that’s fair
  • But I am also one and a quarter of an inch too tall to ever be able to be an astronaut and I have hit my head at least once a day every day on public transit since I was 15
  • Tall privilege exists about as permeably as short privilege does
  • Now when I say that I don’t mean it the way jackasses who claim “black privilege” is a thing mean it
  • I mean it in that these are silly physical characteristics with equal pros and cons that nobody is being oppressed by
  • Unless you lived in North Korea that one time Kim Jong-Il had short people shipped off to islands because that apparently happened
  • Of course this doesn’t really speak of dwarfism/little people but that’s not really what people who claim they have tall privilege are talking about and the shit they have to deal with is a whole other form of actual oppression
  • So if you claim you have tall privilege (or by that extension short privilege) I am just going to assume you really, really, really want people to think you’re humble
  • Which is not really humble at all
  • In conclusion
  • This is the most asinine thing I have ever posted about

I love these posts
